Music Ministry

Schola Cantorum

The St. Michael’s Gallery Choir sings at the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Mass, and the rehearsals for the Gallery Choir are at 10:00 a.m. in the Organ Gallery. For information about the 11:00 a.m. Choir, please contact Daniel Stucker at (312) 642-2498 x -302 or via email at

Contemporary Choir

The Contemporary Choir sings at the 7:00 p.m. Sunday Evening Mass. Rehersals are on Sunday afternoons at 5:45 p.m. in the church. Singers and instrumentalists (flute, violin, guitar) are always needed. For more information about this choral group and ensemble, please contact Scott Arkenberg at (773) 206-6785 or

Cantors

These music leaders of sung prayer proclaim the psalm and help the community to raise its voice in song. Cantors are vocalists that are advanced in training and many take voice lessons to prepare for their ministry. Extra rehearsals and training are needed; many times the Gallery Choir choristers serve as Saturday and Sunday cantors as well. Rosary

Unite as a community praying the Rosary for the sanctity of all life from conception until natural death. Meditative hymns are sung, along with the recitation of the Rosary. No experience required.

Eucharistic Adoration

The second Tuesday of the month the Blessed Sacrament is exposed after the Mother of Perpetual Help Devotion after the 5:30 p.m. mass. Everyone is invited to pray before the Lord Jesus present in the Monstrance. The Rosary will begin at 6:15 p.m. and the service will conclude with Benediction.

Finance Council

Advises the Pastor on financial matters of the parish and school. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets. Appointments are at the invitation of the Pastor.

Parish Pastoral Council

The PPC is involved in most activities and programs effecting the liturgical and spiritual life of St. Michael Parish. Each year new members approved by the Pastor are received into the council as terms expire. Watch the bulletin for the new member drive.

Stations of the Cross

Held Friday afternoons at 3:00 PM in the Chapel during Lent.

 

Monday Night Prayer Group

Join us Monday nights at 7 pm in the Rectory Chapel to read and reflect upon the upcoming Sunday’s Gospel, Contact the coordinator, Fr. Ken Sedlak at

Altar Server

Eucharistic Minister

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion who serve the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and to the sick and homebound. If you are interested in this ministry please email

Garden Club

Volunteers who care for and beautify the grounds and church. Please call the Parish Office if you are interested in volunteering to help, 312-642-2498.

Lector

RCIA

Ushers and Greeters

Volunteers who greet people upon entering the church and assist them to their seat if necessary. They also take up the collection.
