Gardening Group
The St. Michael Gardening Group consists of parishioners who, through their love of gardening, seek to beautify the parish’s Plaza and gardens. The group welcomes any interested parishioner to join with them as they work to provide an inspirational landscape to St. Michael’s beautiful church edifice.
On October 26, our volunteers, along with the City of Chicago crew, planted a red bud tree, the remaining shrubs in the east bed and 1,000 jonquill bulbs, yes, ONE THOUSAND BULBS! We topped all the beds off with a truck load of mulch. It should be fun to see the gardens “come to life” next spring.
A heartfelt thank you to all those who came and worked in the rain and cold and to those that brought food, coffee, cake, candy, etc. A special thanks to those who contributed financially to make the plaza plantings possible. We couldn’t have done it without your help. Last, but not least, thanks to those who have watered and weeded so faithfully all spring and summer and now into fall.
The St. Michael Gardening Group is dedicated to making the Plaza an even more inviting space for our parishioners, guests, and neighbors. Any type of support you can give would begreatly appreciated!
