Architecture & Art Tours We at St. Michael in Old Town are lucky to be surrounded by the beauty that exists in our church, but few know the stories behind that beauty. The docents of the Parish Life Commission offer tours of St. Michael that look into the history, art and religion found in our great church. Training is also available for anyone interested in becoming a docent of St. Michael’s so that they, too, will be able to give tours to our parishioners, neighbors, and visitors. The need for docents is a real one since there are many sightseeing groups that include St. Michael’s on their tours.
If you would like to learn more about St. Michael’s, please come to the 25 minute tours with will take place after the 9:00 a.m. Masses in May and through the summer months of 2008. Tours will meet at the back of the church. Tours at other times can be requested by an e-mail to tours@st-mikes.org or by calling the rectory at 312-642-2498. |
