3rd Annual Gala - A Night to Remember
St. Michael in Old Town's 3rd Annual Gala was held
on April 26, 2008 at Galleria Marchetti. Guests enjoyed a cocktail
hour, followed by a four-course dinner, with music provided by the
AfterFive Orchestra. Josephine and Kay Leiting received
the Tony Berent Award, given to a parishioner who embodies
the selfless spirit of Tony Berent, a wonderful man who gave
constantly of himself to the good of our parish. We were blessed to
have with us, Brother Patrick Concidine,
who received the St. Alphonsus Liguori Award, which is
given to a Redemptorist who exemplifies the Alphonsian spirit of
service and proclamation of the Good News. Emcee Joseph
Fitzpatrick ensured that the evening ran smoothly, as
attendees participated in the Silent Auction and enjoyed the witty
repartee of live auctioneer, Steven Zick,
of Christie's Auctions. As the pictures from the evening reflect, a
good time was had by all!
The Development Commission would like to thank all who made this year's event a great success and a wonderful celebration for our parish community, especially Gala Coordinator, Heather Moore, and Auction Coordinator, Fran Khoury. The Commission thanks all who volunteered their time in organizing the event -- those who solicited donations, helped to organize the auction, set up on the day of the event and worked during it. A great deal of gratitude is owed to all of the generous donors, who contributed to the Auctions, the program book, and the gift bags. We encourage our parishioners to remember them with their patronage and support. Finally, the Commission thanks all who attended this year's Gala, and looks forward to inviting parishioners to join us again next year for this wonderful parish event.
